Barry Taylor's Report on the Outing
Crafers to Hindmarsh Island Wednesday 17th February A great day for a drive. Mid 20’s, no wind, and overcast. Twenty two lovely shiny MX 5’s left Crafers in two groups and two more joined at Littehampton. We drove through Nairne, Dawesly. Kanmantoo, Callington, Salem and Woodchester to Meechies Winehouse in Langhorne Creek. Two recalcitrants were observed tasting and buying vintage port while others enjoyed coffee and a chat in pleasant surrounds or tasting a variety of local wines. Then to Hindmarsh Island past Lake Alexandrina and through Milang, Finnis, Currency Creek and Goolwa to enjoy a pleasant lunch overlooking the marina at ‘The Landing’ Bistro. As usual the group enjoyed the drive, the conviviality and the tucker, which was good value, prompt and well presented. A successful day with 49 for lunch, including the 3 new members who were welcomed.
Interesting facts: There were 4 Davids, 3 Taylors and 2 Barry Taylors.
Thanks to Barry Taylor and Bronwyn Lewis for their organisation
